Northeast Florida Campgrounds

RV campers will enjoy St. Augustine founded in 1565 is the oldest city in the United States being occupied for 42 years before the Jamestown, and founded 55 years before the pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. In the mid 1800’s, the city of Fernandina Beach became Florida's first resort.

Amelia Island, another favorite camping day trip destination is a barrier island of the coast of northeast Florida that has 13 miles of beautiful beaches and is voted #4 among Top 10 North American Islands, noted for quaint Victorian buildings this island is perfect for day trips while camping in northeast Florida. Be sure to drive “downtown” to the 50-plus block historic district with the main corridor along Centre Street in Fernandina Beach (over 450 homes and buildings on the National Register of Historic Places). Also visit Fort Clinch State Park — both must-see attractions, with over 1,100 acres, Fort Clinch State Park sprawls across Amelia Island’s northern tip. (At the opposite end of the island is Amelia Island State Park, a 200-acre preserve encompassing Amelia Island’s southern tip.)
