The Florida Keys is a popular camping destination for those looking to enjoy Florida's tropical camping region. The Florida Keys is like a Caribbean adventure in American and features all the Caribbean islands offer such as world class sport fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, sailing, camping, kayaking and eco-tours. The Florida Keys span about a 100 miles south west from Miami to the southern most point in the continental US to Key West and connected by bridges and causeways crossing the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Northern Caribbean Sea. The first island you will encounter is Key Largo.
Key Largo offers some of the finest camping and is a favorite choice for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. A main attraction of Key Largo is the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, an undersea park that offers snorkeling tours, scuba tours, rental boats and glassbottom tours. There are many companies that have guided trips through the park and to areas of sunken wrecks.
Islamorada is the next island south of Key Largo with several campsite locations. Then Marathon Key, midway through the region. After Marathon is Big Pine Key known for backcountry fishing and bird watching.
The Southernmost point in the continental United States is Key West. RVs and campers will find several very nice parks from small properties with only basic amenities to RV resorts with all the best amenities from heated pools, restaurants, gift shops, marinas and dock facilities.
